Shekhavat's
—In 1727 Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh 2 moved
the Kachhawaha capital to Jaipur he
and his heir imposed their Sovereignty on the Shekhawat’s reducing them to the
status of thakurs i.e Landed nobles. —They retained their
hereditary properties and ruled them in a more or less self-governing
fashion.
